Okay y’all!  Thanks for sticking with me!  I hope you are enjoying these, I am.  Today we start a new album by an artist I was unfamiliar with before!  I am now in love with this man’s voice and his songs.  But, I’ll let you make up your own mind.  Let’s get started this morning.

Devo #1: “Kingdom”

So I went through a spell about a year ago now where I loved every song that had anything to do with the kingdom.  That is probably one reason why I absolutely love this song!  Of course, it is also truly excellent which doesn’t hurt.  This one is funky, so buckle up!

I have recently participating in Priscilla Shirer’s Bible study “The Armor of God”.  In it, she points out a truth I have never heard before: we occupy heavenly places.  Hear me clearly…it doesn’t say we will occupy them.  Says we do.  Where does it say that?

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.”
-Ephesians 2:4-7 (ESV)

Well…it says it in scripture!  The Holy and Wholly True Word of God.  It also says it in David Dunn’s song we’re listening to today.

“Bringing heaven down,
To the here and now,
Yeah kingdom is livin’ in you and I,
It’s anywhere the King resides.”

Occupy heavenly places today.  Choose to be anywhere the King resides.  Choose to be a place where the king can reside.

Love each other.
